Quote:: Tradestation is the best platform for testing and charts if you're willing to learn. They provide plenty of documentation, but it is going to take some time. I think any good trader does tons of backtesting to help put the odds in his favor and tradestation is necessary to do so.

Other platforms are good for newbies. But TS is for PROs. If anyone is serious about trading then move on from simple platforms.

Quote:: Great for charting with but not trading with! I have traded with them in the past and no only use them for charting. But the charting is a bit expensive, but you do get alot of indicators and a great ability to code them as well.

There are many things that sets them apart from other platform, They really has a strong foundation on the language used for creating trading systems and custom indicators which is called Easy Language.
It's not the most comprehensive language but its very user friendly for traders with minimum programming skills like me.

So... basically, if you want the same features (with more options & indicators), a lower price and free data feed(s), try MCFX. If you compare both platforms side-by-side, MCFX has more features for a lower price. Yes... I know the loyalty that some TradeStation users have, but at least check it out before you roll your eyes, lol...

One thing that I will say: "TradeStation offers more "plugins" and free user custom indicators via their forum. BUT MCFX offers a free tool to quickly transpose any EasyLanuage (TradeStation's code base) indicator.
