Hilarious Fiction
for Adventures of a Currency Trader: A Fable about Trading, Courage, and Doing the Right Thing

- Yes, this book is a fascinationg easy read. Yes, I related to everything that the protagonist Harry Bains experienced in his forex adventure. BUT, this is fiction, albeit funny and well written. Any trader would find this book an enjoyable escape. It is not the forex bible or anything close to it. There is no instruction, just the witty writtings of Rob Booker. Good Fun!!!

- Jimmy Young is a legendary bank trader from New York. He no longer works in the industry, but does teach traders and wanna-be traders the ropes. His instruction focuses on fundamentals, technicals and sentiment. His trading styles or methods change with the flow of the market. Adapt or die is his mantra, which is completely true. Systems don't work forever, and he is the first to say so. This is not a signal service. He explains why he is a bull or a bear, and expects the student to do his own research. The guy is brilliant, just sometimes a little difficult to follow. There is great support from the office (Sean) and a library of videos on the website. Jimmy seems sincere in his desire to educate, but you must be willing to put in the time to learn.

- I attended a seminar that IBFX sponsered last year and was impressed with the professionalism of the company and it's staff. I opened an account soon afterward and have regretted it ever since. In the 4 years I have been trading FX I have probabley tried 8-10 brokers. These guys are at the bottom of the heap. I get requotes 9 times out of 10 trades, and the spreads can widen tremendously at any given moment. The executions are less than seamless, so I use this account for longer term trades. Not a good broker for active traders.

- Someboly at FXDD has been listening to the criticism recently. When I opened an account with them about 2 years ago, I was extremely put off by the lack of concern in the customer service department. At one point, it took them 48 hours to post an online deposit through paypal . After several phone calls and no response I asked my IB to intervene. Whenever I called the brokers desk, the voice on the other end was gruff. anonymous and unhelpful. I was just about ready to end my association with these guys when the platform crashed about 6 months ago. I called them expecting to hear the same ineffectual script, but to my surprise was transferred to the tech desk. The guy I spoke to was articulate, concerned and most importantly helpful. The attitude seems to have changed at FXDD.
I get less slipage than some of the other brokers I use, but the stop losses seem to get taken out a little quicker...it makes you wonder.

- BKT is the real deal. Traders teaching traders how to unravel fundamental information and apply it to the charts. The weekly commentary from Borris is worth the price of admission. It is uncanny how he manages to conceptualize the mindsets we all experience on a daily basis. Kathy is brilliant in her analysis of the news releases. Their trade calls are usually spot on, but more importantly, they disect the calls so you, as a self-directed trader understand their thought process and trade plan. They average 2 trade plans per week, written commentary and video from Borris and a risk event calendar and video from Kathy. Excellent information for novice through expert traders.
