The follow up to 'Market Wizards', this book is not as good as the original, and can be hard going at times, but is still full of very useful insights into the minds of some of the worlds greatest traders. Read 'Market Wizards' first.

The book "The New Market Wizards" tells the stories of some prominent traders in the US back in the 80's and 90's. The stories about them are very inspiring because each of the so-called "wizards" came from different backgrounds. Also each of them have different styles, principles, and psychology in trading. Despite their differences, each of them managed to be successful. Reading the books gives one a taste of those differences in styles and psychologically. While one may not agree or conform to all of them, it is still good to see things from different perspectives. The bottom line is all of them became successful traders at the end of the day. And one can only be more successful if he learns from those who already got there. This book provides a little taste of that.

The book tells stories of stellar traders during the 80's and 90's and provides in inside look on how how these traders understand the market. The author presents it in a way anybody who is interested in the markets can understand as he always tries to make sure to explain the jargon used. He also provides a "moral of the interview" at the end of each chapter to make sure the reader understands the core of the interview. This is a book that I would recommend to anyone... I read this book in one sitting from cover to cover!

The book contains interviews with the top traders of the 1980s and 1990s. While it may be a little outdated, it provides great insight into the trading process of America's top traders. The books is highly motivating, as it shows how each trader was able to be successful. While some concepts are difficult to grasp as the traders come from all sorts of markets, interviews are all unique, making for a very interesting read.

Particularly inspiring are the stories about how the market wizards started out or got back from their feet after huge losses. The book tends to go heavy on the technical aspect of trading and there are terms that are difficult to grasp. Since traders interviewed narrated their trading activities that date decades ago, it's a bit difficult to relate to the market situation (and not to mention technology - or lack thereof) back then. Also, note that the market wizards featured in this book also include stocks and options traders and reading about the details of their successful and not-so-successful trades gets a bit grueling at times. I tried reading about 4 to 5 traders in one sitting and I think it would be better to take it just one market wizard at a time.
