I traded with IG Markets in 2007. They were very eager to get me to open an account and deposit funds. After I did, I soon found out how much of a scam they are. I caught them knocking my stops out without reason. I then compared the rates at the time with 3 other brokers and the other brokers all displayed the correct rates. My stops were not even close to being taken out. I complained and then they replied back to me to recheck the IG Markets charts again. I checked and they were changed!!! I double and triple checked all this before I complained. So I know they change their charts to cover their tracks. They also do not like scalpers or news traders. But they never said this on their website or terms. Needless to say, I switched brokers and never regretted it.

Beware Spreadbetting Companies...

Spread widens frequently, Wide spreads, No custom indicators

IG Markets provide an easy to access, and very useable platform, although I have found this tends to run quite slowly on anything other than the most up to date hardware..Please remember that when spreadbetting, you are trading against the company, and that your orders may be subject to manipulation. I have witnessed spreads widen hugely, and usually by just enough to hit your stop. The charting software has improved over time, but is still only very basic, and not really sufficient to make informed trading decisions. And be aware that their charts are based on 'derived' data, and do not necessarily represent true market events.

IGMarkets do have good customer support, and respond quickly to enquiries, both by email and telephone.

All in all, IGMarkets provide an easy way in to trading, with the promise of Tax Free gains (UK), but be aware that the purpose of a spreadbetting company is to make money - in other words, they win when you lose.

I've been with them for almost two years now. IG Market is very honest in the sense that they will return your money without questions asked. No manipulation of prices and they give funds to clients on time. Oh and one last thing, IG Market doesn't like scalpers or people making huge money out of them.

I do not have good exp with IG markets. They tend to hang alot of times, and there are no major news release when it hangs. On one occasion, almost caused me to lose on one trade due to the platform hang.

igmarkets is very good web based software. No need to download software. the onlything to work fast is the internet connection should be fast. the only disadvantage in this is Hedging is not possible. spreads are low. payment is prompt.

I have been using IGMarkets for a while now and have had no problem with them except when your take profit limit is hit then it retraces, they will give you the retraced amount of profit. However if you take profit limit is hit and continues past your limit, they will only give you your exact take profit limit amount. Slightly dodgy but with the platform they provide you with that is one hiccup im willing to live with. Otherwise, great support, fantastic platform. Recommended!

Accurate pricing. I always get price that I click on. There's a slight delay sometimes but my order is filled correctly. I like their web-based platform. No need for downloads. Platform is user-friendly and looks good.
