Quote:: My first impression of FXCM was that it was a little confusing because it's layout was really messy. It is customizable, so once you figure out where everything is, you can re-arrange it to your liking. One thing I like about it is the charting - the charts look great and are generally easy to use. Trendlines and Fibonacci tools stay on after closing the program, which is great. This is so however, because one has to install the software on the computer - which can either be a good thing or a bad thing. It does lessen connection problems, but at the same time, it limits trading in the sense that one has to use his or her own personal PC/ laptop.

Quote:: One of my biggest problem with FXCM is managing positions. You can only buy/sell in multiples of 10,000. In addition, youâ€™d have to setup OCO (one-cancels-other) orders just to set profit and loss points. What's great about FXCM is the free charting software that comes with it. It is highly customizable, fast and aesthetically pleasing. All in all, I wouldn't FXCM for newbies but it's definitely a good platform for the more advanced traders.

Quote:: In FXCM, position sizes are fixed in intervals of 10s, 100s or 1000s. It does not allow you to buy in odd lots. Buying in odd lots help you manage your trades well especially if you adhere strictly in trading not more than 1% or 2% or your account balance. Another negative point for FXCM is that it takes a lot of steps in order to execute and manage trades. In FXCM, you have to go to the process of clicking many buttons.

Quote:: My peeve with FXCM is its cluttered layout. But then FXCM has customizable layout and the skins and fonts can be modified to oneâ€™s content as well. FXCM has the OCO Orders feature which is helpful in setting up straddle trades. It also has the Breakout/Pullback Order feature which automatically syncs rates and creates OCO orders suited for the trade. Another nice feature of FXCM is its Day Profit/Loss display which makes it easier to track the overall performance for the day. Plus, charts on FXCM are more user-friendly and easy to customize. My only beef with the charts on FXCM is that it is displayed on a separate window from the trading platform. Aside from these, the Chat feature of FXCM is also very helpful. Their support crew is active 24 hours and saves me the hassle from checking back on the online Help Manual if I have any questions.

Quote:: I wouldnâ€™t recommend the $25 live account at FXCM to anybody. Youâ€™ll just find your trades getting manipulated until you lose all your money in that account. It seemed that FXCM has invented an ingenious way of stealing money from their traders. They play tricks and use magic in their price charts. If you want proof of dishonesty, compare the FXCMâ€™s chart with other charts and youâ€™ll see that nothing tallies.

Quote:: Iâ€™ve been with them for almost a monthâ€”but now Iâ€™m trading with Forex.com. Though their platform is very nice, easy to operate and has cool charts. I decided to leave them because Iâ€™ve noticed some delays on the execution of my orders.
