Quote:: I used to trade with them and had a two accounts. One of my accounts ended up getting all screwed up where they hadn't recorded some of my trades. I confronted them about it and they adjusted the account which wasn't in my favor. I though it was BS as I would never had taken some of the trades I did. Their support is awful, I'd just stay away.

Quote:: This is a typical market maker style broker. Reaction to market moves and order filling can be glacially slow, stops aren't reliably triggered and their tech support is such in name only.

Two platforms are available, a downloadable Windows exe or a web interface. The web client is more stable usually, but lacks some features. Neither are as useful or convenient as MT4 by a long way.

Their biggest downfall a few years ago was defaulting to 200:1 leverage, which was a nightmare during the crazy 2008 market, but after insisting they changed it to 100:1 although I believe you have to email them to get this done. Don't quote me, I haven't used them in a while and am unlikely to ever go back.

They are successful because they were the first guys on the block and they have the money to out market all other brokers. If you want a good broker check out MB Trading.

Quote:: I don't know if forex.com is a scam or not, but I do have my issues with them. Since I use a Mac, I'm forced to use their java platform in Safari (doesn't work in FoxFire). Even though it's a bit buggy, it runs a lot faster than their HTML platform. Slippage is a big issue with me and has cost me many winning trades. Studying it live, I've seen it slip by as much as 10 pips. Also just jumping into a trade, not setting up an order, often times doesn't happen. Maybe this is just a liquidity issue, but it can get annoying. My last two trades were liquidated, even though I had what I thought was plenty of margin in my account. (One of my two trades was making a profit. The other was bad, but not horrible.)

But on the flip-side Forex.com does have top-notch customer service, good technical analysis, and you can start small with a $250 account.

After reading some of the other reviews here, along with taking in account my own experiences, I'd recommend to keep looking...

Forex.com has been my broker for the past 2 years. Leaving them hasnâ€™t entered my mind yet since I like the straightforward way they deal with their clients. This broker made it clear to me from the beginning that it will always be in conflict with my trading and can make more money when I lose. This information is daunting to learn but I think such honesty deserves some loyalty.
