Quote:: CMC Markets runs a wire siphoning scam. They brokered a backroom deal with Natwest to skim undisclosed fees from wires as they enter and leave the bank.

Sales sent an email stating that no wire fee would be charged. Then when confronted about the charge and given a copy of the email, customer service failed to remedy the problem to meet contractual obligations.

Quote:: o.k here we go. I am a complete newbie to trading and decided on CMC to open my first ever account with....to be honest I wish I had taken the time to research them a little.
They don't give you a demo to practice with and get used to their platform so I was doomed from the off.
Partly down to newbie nerves, first trade etc and not being familliar with their platform I never really knew if I was trading or not. At one point "I lost the plot" and had to call their help desk for confirmation and re-assurance as to wether I was trading a small list of trades that appeared in the platform's blotter window (which I never even knew what the blotter was ? No other broker I had used on a demo had them) so anyway I get's through to the help desk, they clarified what I was trading and what I wasn't....but I felt I was being talked down to. So due to that confusion I was stuck in a trade that I never really wanted to be in and went down almost a third of my account in a few moments.

I was doing this trade abroad so am also a little un-sure as to the internet connections speed as to me the CMC platform seemed to freeze quite often opening and closing trades or changing from various pages within the platform like your account history etc. I was also getting re-quotes etc.

I just did not get on too well and will be trying to get my account balance back and then take my cash elsewhere.

If you could trial a demo for a while so you could get familliar with it....it might have been a more pleasant overall first days trading to say the least.

Quote:: CMC is a broker that I mainly used for FX spread betting, but I have run a spot account there too. In general it was a positive enough experience and I found the facilities conducive to good, effective trading. I assume these guys have a dealing desk because sometimes there would be too many rejections and re-quotes for a serious trader to contend with. What I don't understand about brokers with dealing desks is why they try to trip up successful traders who are making money. Why don't they identify the good traders and let their orders go through directly, and only trade against those who are losing regularly? That way good traders are recommending the service while the broker can carry on the slightly distasteful business of rejoicing in the losses of the rest of their book. CMC could have been great, but they need a different approach.

Quote:: I have been quite successful with this broker and would have recommended them but it seems if you make a decent amount of money with them they start playing funny games as they want it back. They will requote on every order you place and can take 30 seconds to accept your stop order, by which time the price may have moved beyond your stop. Be very careful with this broker.

Quote:: For over a year already, I have been trading live with CMC. I never had any issue with re-quotes. It took me less than a month to know my way around their platform. It was easy navigating it. CMC provides stable platform and excellent customer service. I am greatly satisfied with CMC.
